AUS vs PAK, 1st T20I: Finch Wins Toss, Australia To Bowl First At SCG
Australian skipper Aaron Finch won the toss and elected to bowl in what seemed as a good deck for batting at the SCG.
Australia will be taking on Pakistan in the first of the 3-match T20 international series at the Sydney Cricket Ground in a short while from now. Australian skipper Aaron Finch won the toss and elected to bowl in what seemed as a good deck for batting at the SCG.
Captain Aaron Finch named an unchanged side from the one that inflicted a 3-0 series sweep over over Sri Lanka in Melbourne on Friday night.
Ben McDermott retained his middle-order place in the absence of Glenn Maxwell, who has taken some time out of the game for mental health reasons.
Meanwhile Pakistan got their tour of Australia off to a winning start with a six-wicket T20 win against Cricket Australia XI in Bankstown.
Pakistan skipper Babar Azam is confident his side has the game plan to stop Australia opener David Warner, who was in breathtaking form in his side's clean sweep of Sri Lanka, posting scores of 100no, 60no and 57no.
"We've got a plan ready for David Warner," Babar said with the aid of an interpreter.
"He's one of Australia's really good batsmen. We have our frontline bowlers, we have a strategy ready for David.
"Obviously, once he gets going, he gets going but we have a strategy in place for all facets."
Australia XI: Aaron Finch (c), David Warner, Steve Smith, Ben McDermott, Ashton Turner, Alex Carey, Ashton Agar, Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Kane Richardson, Adam Zampa.
Pakistan XI: Babar Azam (c), Fakhar Zaman, Haris Sohail, Mohammad Rizwan, Asif Ali, Iftikhar Ahmed, Imad Wasim, Wahab Riaz, Shadab Khan, Mohammad Amir, Mohammad Irfan
