- Sprinkle Ganga water and offer your respects to Lord Ganesh.
- Apply sindoor to Lord Ganesha and light incense and lamps.
- Offer Ganesha his favourite items: modaks, laddoos, flowers, sindoor, sacred thread (janeu), and 21 blades of grass (durva).
- Later, perform Ganesh Aarti with the entire family. On this day, avoid sighting the moon.
