BIG REVELATION! Ganguly Says Rohit Wasn't Keen To Lead India After Kohli Resigned

Sourav Ganguly, who was the BCCI President when Rohit Sharma succeeded Virat Kohli as the captain of the Indian men's cricket team, said that Rohit wasn't keen on leading India initially.

Former India captain Sourav Ganguly has made a massive REVELATION in a recent interview. The ex-India cricketer who was the BCCI President when Rohit Sharma was named Virat Kohli's successor as the captain of the Indian cricket team said that Rohit wasn't keen to lead India when Virat Kohli resigned as the captain in T20s. Ganguly said this was because Kohli had resigned suddenly and Rohit already had a lot on his plate. While Kohli had only stepped down as the captain in T20s, Rohit was first named as the leader in T20Is and ODIs and then when Kohli quit as Test captain, he was named the skipper across formats. "Rohit [Sharma] didn't want the captaincy because there was a lot of pressure on playing all formats - it had gone to a stage where I told him you have to say yes or I will announce your name. I am happy he has taken it now he is leading from the front and you guys can check the results," Ganguly said in an interview with Kolkata TV.(PHOTO CREDIT: GETTY)
