First Look: Volkswagen T-Roc Compact SUV Launched

The T-Roc is petrol only and comes with a 7-speed DSG gearbox as standard. There is no diesel but the 1.5 TSI turbo petrol makes a good 150 bhp and 250Nm. The T-Roc now will rival the just launched Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Jeep Compass and other SUVs. Service intervals or cost is similar to the Tiguan with VW trying to make it more affordable to run. In terms of equipment the list is quite long with an 8 inch touchscreen with all the expected connectivity features while there is also a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, rear camera with sensors, 6 airbags and a lot more. You get LED headlamps while the DRLs are in the bumper with an unique shape which catches your attention. You will also see big wheels which further ups the sporty stance. The T-Roc also gets big real LED Tail-lamps plus the tapered tail adds to the muscle. There are lots of sharply cut lines and a subtle spoiler too. Inside it is a Volkswagen and by that we mean solid build quality which impresses even more now. Being a CBU it is completely imported and that brings in a spectacular build quality. The design is typically VW but the colours which are added to the cabin looks great. Space is decent but less than some others with focus on design, especially the sloping roof but two at the back is possible while the boot is big enough.

The T-Roc is a compact SUV with its length of being just above 4m. It is a sporty crossover with a design which is pointed towards on-road performance. It is roughly the size of SUVs like the Creta and Seltos. However in design terms the T-Roc looks handsome and probably is the best looking Volkswagen. For an SUV it slightly lower and the roof flows in. The face is also wider with bigger wheel-arches too.

Volkswagen has launched its first compact luxury SUV for India which is called as the T-Roc. The T-Roc was first shown at the Auto Expo and now it is on sale with a price of Rs 19.99 lakh.
