Voting Underway In 43 Seats In Jharkhand; Bypolls Being Held In 11 States — In Pics

Voting is underway in 43 seats in Jharkhand, while bypolls are being in 31 assembly seats spread across 10 states and Kerala's Wayanad Lok Sabha constituency.

Long queues of voters were seen outside several booths in the morning. Simdega district registered the highest voter turnout at 15.09 per cent, followed by 14.97 per cent each at Lohardaga.

Today is the first round of voting in Jharkhand assembly elections. The next phase will held on November 20.

Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is making her electoral debut from Wayanad. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi won the seat in the Lok Sabha elections held this year.

A total of 34 candidates are in the fray in Assam in the five seats going to bypolls - Dholai, Behali, Samaguri, Bongaigaon and Sidli.

West Bengal bypolls: Voting is being held in six seats in the state. The ruling TMC in West Bengal had won five of the six seats -- Taldangra, Sitai-SC, Naihati, Haroa, Medinipur, and Madarihat - in the 2021 assembly polls.

In Rajasthan, bypolls are being held in Jhunjhunu, Dausa, Deoli-Uniara, Khinvsar, Chaurasi, Salumbar and Ramgarh.
