Several refugees stage protest near Congress office

Several Hindu and Sikh refugees from Pakistan and Afghanistan held a protest near the Congress headquarters on Friday.

They staged the protests over the remarks made by the I.N.D.I.A bloc leaders on the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA).

They carried placards and raised slogans against the grand old party's senior leaders Rahul and Sonia Gandhi.

Panju Ram, one of the protesters, told news agency PTI, "When the BJP-led Centre is implementing the CAA to give us citizenship, why are other political parties opposing it? We are protesting against them for opposing the law."

Earlier on Thursday, the Hindu and Sikh refugees staged a protest near Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's Civil Lines residence.

They are demanding an apology from the AAP supremo over his remarks against the implementation of the CAA.
