Finally, we know everything regarding the Tata Punch subcompact SUV which is due to be launched very soon. Bookings for the Punch have been started at Rs 21,000 while Tata Motors have also revealed the variant line-up, trims, engine and more details.

In terms of exteriors, the Punch has dimensions of 3827 x 1945 x 1615 (width with mirrors). Else, the design has been borrowed from the Harrier with the way the headlamps/DRLs are different. There are 16-inch diamond cut alloys for the top-end version too.

There is cladding, roof rails along with dual-tone options in white and black. The Punch is a bit shorter than the Nexon in length but looks very much SUV like.

Inside, Tata Motors have kept the same theme as the Altroz but there are differences in form of the centre console along with different looking air vents. There are body coloured inserts for the ac vents and also leather wrapped shift knob and steering wheel.

There are fabric seats with the signature Tri- Arrow pattern while Tata Motors claims that it has a flat floor which means three can easily sit at the back with no issue. The boot space of the Punch meanwhile is 366 litres.

In terms of features, the top-end trim will get equipment like a cooled glovebox, 7inch digital instrument cluster, a floating 7inch touchscreen, connected car technology, 6 speaker audio system, rear view camera, dual airbags with ABS, cruise control, auto headlamps and rain sensing wipers too.

The Punch will debut with a 1.2l petrol engine which makes 86PS and 113Nm. Gearbox options include a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT automatic. There are drive modes- Eco and Sport along with an idle start/stop function to save fuel. The AMT gets Traction- Pro Mode (for AMT) for easier driving during difficult conditions or high altitude.

The Punch also has 190mm ground clearance when unladen along with a 370mm water wading capability. There is a feature called Dyna Pro technology which gives more low-end torque. It also has brake sway control.

The Punch will be available in four trims- Pure Persona, Adventure Persona, Accomplished Persona and Creative Persona.

There are customization options too along with 7 colours.
