Mahindra showcased its interpretation of what the Thar would look like when electrified. Here are some factors that makes the off-roader stand out.
1/6

The Thar.e is not based on the current non-electric Thar and does not have anything in common. Mahindra chose the INGLO platform because it is more flexible within its 'Born Electric' range.
2/6

The Thar.e isn't a ladder frame SUV anymore, as instead it will get a dual motor layout with all-wheel drive, but it will gain so much torque from the electric motors that it won't need low range, which is essential for any hardcore off-roader.
3/6

The styling is butch and aggressive, with square-shaped elements and a boxy theme, along with an upright stance.
4/6

Thar.e's five-door form looks completely different from the regular Thar, marked by new LED lights and the grille.
5/6

The interior is way more futuristic and will come with a pivoting touchscreen. Mahindra has also added sustainability, in terms of recycled materials, and the components are also swappable.
6/6

The Thar.e isn't hitting the market anytime soon but expect it around 2027. It will get a large battery pack for a minimum range of over 400 kilometres.
