Kia has launched its first EV in India with the EV6 having a starting price of Rs 59.95 lakh while the top-end is priced at Rs 64.95 lakh. Bookings for this luxury EV crossover had opened some days back with the booking amount being Rs 3 lakh.

The India spec EV6 would be sold in a single GT trim and for India, there would be only 100 units for sale with select Kia dealers retailing this car. The company has already received over 350 bookings for the same.

Around 15 dealerships across India would be selling the car in around 12 cities with the dealerships also being equipped with charging facilities. The EV6 has been launched with a single motor rear-drive specification which makes 229hp and 350Nm while the more powerful dual-motor version comes with AWD and develops 325hp and 605Nm.

In terms of its range, the EV6 has a large 77.4kWh battery pack that enables it to have a range of around 528 km. This much range makes the EV6 one of the most efficient EVs that you can get.

Being fully imported into India, the EV6 comes equipped with all kinds of features and technology including a twin 12.3-inch displays, heads-up display with augmented reality, ADAS features, eight airbags, sunroof, cooled and ventilated front seats with relaxing function, 14-speaker audio system and connected car technology.

The EV6 is based on a new pure EV platform and that increases the space inside alongside having a flat floor plus loads of storage space. The EV6 also supports V2L or vehicle to load charging where it can charge another EV or charge home appliances.

Via a fast 350kW DC fast charger, the EV6 can charge from 10 to 80 percent in 18 minutes! The EV6 is a crossover by design and is the only EV SUV at this price point in India.
