UP Boy Creates World Record For Having Longest Hair On A Teenager

Sidakdeep Singh Chahal of Greater Noida in Uttar Pradesh has created Guiness World Records (GWR) for having the longest hair. A follower of Sikhism, the 15-year-old has never had his hair cut in his entire life to honour his religious beliefs. Chahal's hair has grown to a length of 146 cm (4 ft 9.5 in), setting a world record for the longest hair on a male teenage.
In a video shared on YouTube by GWR, Chahal says he was unhappy with his long hair as a kid, and always urged his parents to let him have a hair cut. But as he grew older, started caring for his hair and realised that it is a part of his identity.

“It would take an entire day if it wasn’t for the help of my mother,” said Chahal to GWR.
Chahal usually ties his hair in a bun and covers it with a dastār (turban), as is custom for Sikhs.
Several of Chahal's family members and friends have long hairs but they were shocked to know that he had set a world record.
“They thought I was pulling their leg and it took a bit of proof to convince them," said Chahal.
"I was over the moon when I learned that I would be featured," he further said.
According to the records keeping company, the longest hair on a teenager ever is 200 cm (6 ft 6 in), grown by fellow Indian Nilanshi Patel. However, she cut her hair in 2021 and donated it to a museum.
