Scores Of Candidates Appear For Online Entrance Exam For Agniveer Recruitment In Northeast

The online CEE for eligible registered candidates commenced at 375 Examination Centres in 176 locations across the country from April 17, 2023 and continued till April 26, 2023.

Guwahati: A large number of candidates including women appeared for the online Common Entrance Exam (CEE) of Agniveer recruitment for the year 2023-24, according to an official statement. The Indian Army has transformed the procedure for recruitment of ‘Agniveers’, with the introduction of a computer-based online entrance exam as the first step. The online CEE for eligible registered candidates commenced at 375 Examination Centres in 176 locations across the country from April 17, 2023 and continued till April 26, 2023. The new recruitment procedure of online entrance examination as the first stage has attracted youths from Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.

With improved technological threshold, the changed methodology will ensure an increased focus on the cognitive aspect during selection and will reduce the large crowds and gatherings, which otherwise used to create a chaotic situation all around during the recruitment rallies, with now these rallies becoming more manageable and easier to conduct.

“The exams went well. The questions were very good. Whoever prepared well for their exams, it must have gone well. I could complete all the questions on time. The online exams are very good in comparison to the offline one. Students do not need to carry anything to appear for the examinations. Everything goes off very well,” said a candidate Bandana.

“This was my first attempt and I heard other candidates saying that the online method is much better. I too found it hassle-free. The exams went really well,” said another candidate Ranjita.

The exams are being conducted at a total of 26 centres across 14 cities in all the seven Northeastern states.

The exams are being held at Naharlagun in Arunachal Pradesh, Dibrugarh, Guwahati, Jorhat, Silchar and Tezpur in Assam, Imphal, Ukhrul and Churachandpur in Manipur, Shillong in Meghalaya, Aizawl in Mizoram, Dimapur and Kohima in Nagaland and Agartala in Tripura.

From this year onwards, the recruitment will be carried out in three stages. In stage one, all candidates will undergo the Online CEE. In stage two, the shortlisted candidates will be called for recruitment rallies at locations decided by the respective Army Recruitment Office for Physical Fitness Test and Physical Measurement Test. Finally, in stage three the selected candidates will undergo a Medical Test. Thereafter, the final merit list of the successful candidates will be declared, as per the press release.
