'Rahul's Body Double To Conspiracy To Spark Communal Clash': Himanta's Big Charges At Congress

Assam CM Himanta Sarma has made a massive claim against the Congress saying that the party conspired to trigger a major communal clash in Assam.

Locked in a bitter battle with the Congress and Rahul Gandhi, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Sarma has made another big charge against the Congress saying that the party conspired to trigger a major communal clash in Assam and wanted the same to happen during the Ayodhya Temple event. He further raised questions whether Rahul Gandhi was using his body double during the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra.

He said, "...What was this Yatra? Look at its timing. They had hatched a conspiracy to instigate a major communal clash in Assam. We had a glimpse of it in Guwahati. But their big conspiracy was to cross through Assam during the Ram Temple Pranpratishtha and a clash ensues in the state. But the people of our party and Ram Bhakts restrained themselves. They did not let anything untoward happen in Assam...I would like to tell Rahul Gandhi...people of Assam will see you in Lok Sabha for your arrogance. I give you this commitment today - Congress will get an even lesser number of seats in Assam and we will defeat them with a good margin. I promise you this today."

He also quoted a media report alleging that a body double of Rahul Gandhi was used on the bus being used for Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra.

Repeating his 'naxalite' jibe at the party, he said, "Congress politics has become 'Soft Naxalite'. Their slogans don't reflect Gandhian principles anymore. I too was in Congress for 22 years. But it never had such slogans earlier. Congress had a soft slogan. I see that they have killed even the soul of Congress. Entire carcade was full of so-called Left people, Left-leaning people."

Earlier, Sarma had said Rahul Gandi would be arrested after the Lok Sabha polls. He said, "The main aim was to destabilize Assam. Now he wants to do Nyay Yatra in Dhubri. Do it, I have no objection. We will arrest him after the Lok Sabha election. If we arrest him before that, it will be politicised. Now the case has been registered, SIT will investigate, and we have evidence. Yesterday, a big incident could have happened in Guwahati after he instigated people to break barricades. We don't want to do politics before the Lok Sabha election, because we are going to win this election."
