Modi On Trump

During a three-hour interaction on Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said he and Donald Trump connect well as both prioritise their respective countries. Modi emphasized that their mutual trust remained strong even when Trump was out of office during Joe Biden's presidency.

Recalling a memorable moment, Modi said Trump had set aside security protocol to join him for a lap around the stadium during the 'Howdy Modi' event in Houston, which deeply moved him. He also commended Trump's courage following the recent assassination attempt during his campaign.

Modi highlighted that Trump's "America First" aligns with his own "India First" approach, fostering their strong connection.

In the three-hour long podcast, PM Modi praised the RSS for instilling patriotic values in him, acknowledged Mahatma Gandhi's legacy, and described himself as a peacemaker who has encouraged both Russian and Ukrainian leaders to engage in peace talks.

Modi shared about his childhood spent in a small home with no windows where his parents, siblings, uncles, aunts and grandparents lived. He mentioned that he was burdened with poverty while reminiscing how his father worked tirelessly late into the night and how his mother ensured that the children never felt the struggles of the circumstances.

Fridman, a US-based computer scientist, started his podcast in 2018. It was originally titled the Artificial Intelligence Podcast, but the name changed to Lex Fridman Podcast in 2020.

On Monday, Congress slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his remarks in a podcast on the relevance of global organisations, claiming that the PM is clearly going out of his way to keep US President Donald Trump in good humour and "repeating his good friend's chant".
