BJP Telangana MLA releases song for Indian Army, Pakistan says "copied"; war of words breaks out on Twitter

Responding to Singh's video, Asif Ghafoor, DG-ISPR, Pakistan, wrote: “Glad that you copied. But copy to speak the truth as well." This triggered a war of words between the two over the social media platform.

New Delhi: BJP’s lone lawmaker in Hyderabad Raja Singh is embroiled in a massive row with Pakistani Army spokesperson Asif Ghafoor over the release of his new song, which latter claims to be Pakistan’s Army song which has been "copied" by Singh. On the occasion of Ram Navami, Raja Singh who represents Goshmahal constituency released a patriotic song titled ‘Hindustan Zindabad’ and dedicated it to the Indian Army, but Ghafoor took a jibe at him and claimed that the song copied from Pakistan. Singh had shared a small video clip of the song’s recording on Twitter. He had written: “My new song which will be released on 14th April at 11:45 AM on the occasion of #SriRamNavami is dedicated to our #IndianArmy forces.” Soon the song went viral, after which the Paksitani Army claimed that Singh’s song was copied from a song released by its media wing on March 23 for Pakistan Day and was composed by Sahir Ali Bagga there. Asif Ghafoor, the Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (DG-ISPR), Pakistan, retweeted Singh’s video and wrote: “Glad that you copied. But copy to speak the truth as well. #PakistanZindabad” To this Singh’s comeback was: “ Good to see even #Pakistan media is covering my song #HindustanZindabad. I'm more surprised that even a terriorst nation produces singer's. #Pakistani singer's may have copied my song we don't have to copy anything from a terrorist state like Pakistan.” In response, Asif Ghafoor tweeted: “Pakistani media isn’t covering the ‘so called’ song. In rest of the world this is called something else...Second sentence of previous tweet ie “But copy to speak the truth as well” stays valid as expected. This lie too not a surprise. That’s what was said, we can’t be surprised.” Singh has maintained that the song is his original composition and that Pakistan could have copied from it. India and Pakistan are facing the lowest time in their relation as an aftermath of the Pulwama terror attack carried out by Pakistan based Jaish-e-Mohammed and subsequent bombing of terror camps in Balakot by India as an anti-terror operation.
