Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit his home state Gujarat on Holi, March 8, and meet his Australian counterpart Anthony Albanese here.
Modi In Gujarat: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit his home state Gujarat on Holi, March 8 and meet his Australian counterpart Anthony Albanese here. This will be the first meeting between the two leaders since Alabnese took charge as the Prime Minister of Australia in May, last year. PM Modi and Australian PM Albanese will also watch the India-Australia test match at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
It will be the last test match of the 4-match series being played between the two countries. India is leading the series 2-1.
Here's PM Modi's Schedule For Gujarat Visit
- PM Modi will reach Gujarat on March 8 at 8 pm and will rest at Raj Bhavan in Gandhinagar.
- He will leave for Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad on March 9 at 8 am.
- The PM will watch the 4th India-Australia test match with the Prime Minister of Australia, Anthony Albanese.
- He will leave for Gandhinagar at 10 am and will stay in Raj Bhavan till 2 pm
- PM Modi will leave for Delhi after 2 pm.
Earlier ahead of his 4-day visit to India, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said, "This will be my first visit to India as PM and I look forward to reinforcing the strong bond between Australia and India. Our relationship with India is strong but it can be stronger."
"It is underpinned by our Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, which underscores a joint commitment to working together to enhance our defence, economic, and technological interests," he added, as quoted by news agency ANI.
The Australian Prime Minister will be accompanied by Senator Don Farrell, Minister for Trade and Tourism, and Madeleine King, Minister for Resources and Northern Australia, along with senior officials and a high-level business delegation.
"At the invitation of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of Australia, H.E. Mr. Anthony Albanese, will pay a State Visit to India on 08-11 March 2023," the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) informed in a statement.
"This will be Prime Minister Albanese’s first visit to India in his current role. Prime Minister Albanese will arrive in Ahmedabad on 08 March 2023 on the day of Holi. He will also visit Mumbai on 09 March 2023, before arriving in Delhi later in the day," the ministry added.
