Sonali Phogat Murder: Family Accuses BJP Leader Kuldeep Bishnoi Of Murder, Asked To Appear Before Khap Panchayat

The brother of BJP leader Sonali Phogat has accused Kuldeep Bishnoi of killing his sister. At the Sarv Khap Mahapanchayat, which was convened in Hisar, Rinku revealed the information.

New Delhi: Rinku Dhaka, the brother of deceased BJP leader Sonali Phogat has accused another BJP leader Kuldeep Bishnoi of killing his sister.

He made the allegation at the Sarv Khap Mahapanchayat, which was convened in Hisar. Sandeep Bharti, a spokesperson for the Khap, told a news agency ANI that the Sarv Khap Mahapanchayat wants Kuldeep Bishnoi to present his side in response to claims made by Sonali's family members.

"I had sent one of my acquaintances to the hospital after Sonali's death, and Sudhir Sangwan, who is one of the accused in the murder, had enquired whether the person was sent by Kuldeep. One of our acquaintances was in Goa. After Sonali's death, we called him and sent him to the hospital. When he reached, Sudhir Sangwan met him and asked where was he from. When he said that he is from Hisar, Sudhir immediately asked if Kuldeep has sent him. He didn't say anything, but Sudhir again asked the same question in the car," said Rinku Dhaka, as quoted by news agency ANI.

Khap Panchayat Asks Kuldeep Bishnoi To Appear Before It

Khap Mahapanchayat spokesperson Sandeep Bharti said that the family openly alleged that BJP leader Kuldeep Bishnoi appears to be the conspirator in this matter. "The police have acted to divert the investigation, but the family and Sarv Khap believe Kuldeep is under suspicion. In the previous Khap Panchayat also, many representatives had levelled allegations against him. Therefore, Kuldeep should clear his stand before the Khap," the spokesperson added.

Bharti further said, "Otherwise, there will be a big Mahapanchayat of Sarvsamaj in Adampur on 23 October and if the family is not satisfied then they will think against them to take a decision. A delegation will meet the Chief Minister and ministers of the Central Government, including family members, to explain the suspicion that the CBI probe is not affected. Goa Police has done its investigation in a weak manner."

Sonali Phogat Murder Case

Sonali died a few days after Kuldeep allegedly went to her farmhouse after joining the BJP. Sonali's family is linking her alleged murder to the Adampur by-election.

Sudhir Sangwan, Sonali's personal assistant, and another aide Sukhwinder were with her on August 23 when she died in a Goa restaurant.

According to ANI, Sonali's family believes that Sudhir and Sukhwinder killed Sonali while under the influence of narcotics because Sudhir wanted to take Sonali's property. 

Both accused are under police custody. Injuries were noted on Sonali's body in the post-mortem report. According to this information, Sudhir and Sukhwinder were charged with murder by the Goa Police. The CBI is now probing the case.

Earlier, the Sarv Khap Panchayat organised a maha panchayat and issued an ultimatum to the Haryana government, demanding a CBI investigation.

Following this, the Haryana government requested a CBI investigation in a letter to the Goa government. Five persons have been detained in this investigation thus far, including the owner of Goa's Curlies Resort.
