Saudi Arabia Suspends Air Travel To And From India Due To Rising Covid-19 Cases

As per the latest development, people with travel history to any of the mentioned countries in the last 14 days prior to arrival in Saudi Arabia will not be allowed in.

Witnessing the continuous rise in the number of Coronavirus cases, Saudi Arabia has announced to suspend all the flights to and from India, Brazil and Argentina. As per the latest development, people with travel history to any of the mentioned countries in the last 14 days prior to arrival in Saudi Arabia will not be allowed in. However, persons with official government invitations to travel to these countries have been excluded. As mentioned in a PTI report, Saudi Arabia's General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) in an official circular issued on Tuesday said, "it was "suspending travel to and from the following countries: (India, Brazil and Argentina) including any person who has been in any of the mentioned countries above in the last 14 days prior to their arrival to the Kingdom".
It may be noted that the Air India Express five days ago said that the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority (DCAA) suspended its flights for 24 hours for bringing two passengers with COVID-positive certificates on August 28 and September 4. Meanwhile, India's total tally has breached the 56-lakh mark on Wednesday with 83,347 new cases and 1,085 deaths in last 24 hours. The total case tally stands at 5,646,011 including 9,68,377 active cases. The number of people have been cured, discharged or have migrated is 45,87,614, while total number of fatalities has risen to 90,020, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Globally total number of coronavirus cases stands at 31,764,198. While 23,371,496 have recovered, 974,559 have died so far. The US, the worst-hit country, 7,097,598 cases. It is followed by India, which has 5,640,496 cases, Brazil (4,595,335) and Russia (1,115,810).
