6 Army Personnel Injured In Landmine Blast In Jammu And Kashmir's Rajouri
In Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district, six Army personnel were injured in a landmine explosion.
Jammu And Kashmir News: At least six Army personnel sustained injuries in a landmine explosion in a forward village near Khamba Fort in the Nowshera sector of Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district on Tuesday, officials reported. The incident occurred around 10:45 am when one of the soldiers accidentally stepped on a landmine while on patrol duty, triggering the explosion.
The injured personnel were promptly evacuated to a hospital, where their condition was reported to be stable, according to officials cited by news agency PTI.

The forward areas near the Line of Control (LoC) are part of an anti-infiltration obstacle system and are scattered with landmines. However, officials highlighted that heavy rains sometimes displace these landmines, leading to such accidents.
"As part of an anti-infiltration obstacle system, the forward areas near the Line of Control are dotted with landmines which sometimes get washed away by rains resulting in such types of accidents," the officials stated, as per PTI.

Jammu And Kashmir: Army Porter Injured In Landmine Mishap In Poonch
This is not the first incident of its kind in the region. In November last year, an Army porter, Mohammad Qasim, was injured in a similar mishap in the Shahpur sector of Poonch district. Qasim, the son of Mohammad Sharief from Noonabandi village, accidentally stepped on a landmine, resulting in injuries to his left foot. He was immediately transported to an Army hospital for treatment, as per news agency IANS.
