YouTuber Dhruv Rathee Recalls When BJP Posted Sting Operation Of Mukul Roy, Suvendhu Adhikari Taking Bribe

The video posted in 2016 on BJP's YouTube channel showed journalist Matthew Samuels, the CEO of Narada News, posed as a businessman, purportedly offering money to 11 TMC leaders including Mukul Roy and Suvendu Adhikari.

The political drama between the Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party continues to heat up with spiking attacks coming in against each other from both ends. Meanwhile, YouTuber Dhruv Rathee has shared screenshots taken from BJP's YouTube channel of a sting operation showing former Trinamool Congress (TMC) and current BJP members Mukul Roy and Suvendu Adhikari taking bribe. The clip showed journalist Matthew Samuels, the CEO of Narada News, posed as a businessman, purportedly offering money to 11 TMC leaders including Mukul Roy and Suvendu Adhikari. The saffron party had then even organised mass protests across Bengal demanding the resignation of the members caughts taking bribe. Now that the two leaders have shifted ship from TMC to the BJP, Dhruv Rathee has shared the screenshot of the sting video, taking a dig at the political situation in the poll-bound West Bengal. In a Twitter post, Rathee said "4 years ago, BJP had posted sting operation of these two politicians caught taking bribes. Both Mukul Roy and Suvendhu Adhikari have now joined BJP happily."

TMC Leaders Join BJP Ahead Of West Bengal Poll 2021

The former West Bengal Transport and Irrigation Minister and TMC heavyweight from East Midnapore district, Suvendu Adhikari earlier this month tendered his resignation as an MLA from West Bengal. Days after resigning, Adhikar, along with several other leaders of the TMC, joined the saffron party ahead of State Assembly elections in 2021. Another Trinamool leader Mukul Roy, also an accused in the Narada sting case, had joined the BJP in 2017, and described his new party as “secular” and one that had actually contributed to the growth of his former organisation during its initial years when it was a part of NDA.
