‘Don't Misjudge My Composure, Even You Have Families,’ Uddhav Thackeray’s Veiled Warning To Opposition

Thackeray has alleged that the Central agencies of the country are being misused by those in power for vindictive politics.

Maharashtra: Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Friday launched a veiled attack at the opposition in an interview published in Shiv Sena’s mouthpiece Saamna, saying that he should not be compelled to go after them. His remarks come in the wake of the Enforcement Directorate’s action against party senior leader Pratap Sarnaik. Thackeray has alleged that the Central agencies of the country are being misused by those in power for vindictive politics. Stop this political perversity," he said. He however added  “but if you force us, we will use Sudarshan Chakra against your vindictiveness.” His statement comes in an interview to Sena MP Sanjay Raut for 'Saamana', as the MVA government  of Shiv Sena, NVP and Congress combined, completed a year in office on Saturday. Days before, the Enforcement Directorates (ED) conducted raids at the premises linked to Shiv Sena MLA Pratap Sarnaik in Mumbai and neighbouring Thane in connection with a money-laundering case. He also slammed the BJP without naming it for targeting his son and state minister Aaditya Thackeray in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case.  "When I am challenged, I am encouraged. Don't misjudge my demeanor of composure and patience,” he said in an apparent warning. "Even you have families and children, and you are not clean. Not just me, but the people of the state will teach you a lesson," Thackeray said. Kangana bungalow demolition was illegal, says HC Meanwhile, the Bombay High Court has declared the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation's (BMC) action of demolishing part of Kangana Ranaut's bungalow as illegal and said it smacks of malafide intentions. The bench said that the demolition action was "bad in law", and observed that it was carried out on "wrongful grounds" and "against the rights of the citizens". It also however directed Ranaut to show "restraint" in future while voicing her opinions in public. The spat between Kangana Ranaut and Shiv Sena had escalated to new heights when BMC razed a part of her office-cum-bungalow.  In her petition, Ranaut had claimed that the BMC had acted out of malice following her tweets against the Mumbai police that had irked the Shiv Sena-led Maharashtra government. 'Criminal law not a weapon for selective harassment,' SC extends Arnab's interim bail In yet another development of the day, the Supreme Court was critical of the Bombay High Court for not even prima facie evaluating the FIR against journalist Arnab Goswami and said that the issue whether accused has established a case for quashing the FIR could have been looked into later, but the issue of bail should have been dealt with in the light of the complaint. The apex court has extended the interim bail of Goswami and two others till four weeks after the Bombay High Court decides their pleas for quashing of an FIR in the 2018 abetment to suicide case.
