Madhya Pradesh: Amit Shah Lays Foundation Stone For New Terminal Building And Expansion Of Gwalior Airport

Amit Shah In Madhya Pradesh: The Union Home minister laid foundation stone for the new terminal building and expansion of the Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia Airport.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday laid the foundation for the new terminal building and expansion of the Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia Airport in Madhya Pradesh's Gwalior city, news agency PTI reported. 

The Union Home Minister is on a day-long visit to Madhya Pradesh. 

The new terminal building will be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 446 crore, an official said, PTI reported. 

Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan were present on the occasion. 

Amit Shah is scheduled to appear in a later programme at Mela Ground. Jyotiraditya Scindia will also be present at the event.

The Union Minister will also inaugurate a Maratha history gallery at the Scindias' Jai Vilas Palace before departing for Delhi around 7.15 p.m.

Earlier in the day, the Home Minister unveiled India's first Hindi-language MBBS textbooks in Bhopal. The course books are part of the Madhya Pradesh government's initiative to provide medical education in Hindi.

According to news agency ANI, Madhya Pradesh is the first state in the country to begin the MBBS course in Hindi. Initially, three subjects were chosen to be studied in Hindi: anatomy, physiology, and biochemistry.

Amit Shah, speaking at the launch event, said that it is a historic day for India's education sector and that it will be written in gold letters in history.

“Today is a very important day for the education sector of India. Whenever history will be written in the coming days, this day will be written in golden letters”, ANI quoted Shah as saying during the launch event.

"Through the new education policy, Modi ji has taken a pledge to create such a system for technical, medical and law studies in Indian languages, due to which a revolution of capacity is going to come in the whole country," said the home minister's official Twitter handle.
