IndiGo's Mumbai To Lucknow Flight Delayed As Passenger Claims Bomb Under His Seat
An individual, boarding the IndiGo flight with the number 6E 5264 bound for Lucknow, asserted the presence of a bomb beneath his assigned seat, causing delay in the flight.
A flight from Mumbai to Lucknow, operated by IndiGo, faced delays on Friday due to a concerning incident where a passenger claimed that a bomb had been planted under his seat. The incident unfolded during the ongoing boarding process when the passenger made the alarming statement, prompting authorities to take immediate action.
According to news agency ANI, the Mumbai police reported that the individual, boarding the IndiGo flight with the number 6E 5264 bound for Lucknow, asserted the presence of a bomb beneath his assigned seat. In response, the airline and airport security conducted a thorough inspection of the aircraft to ensure the safety of all passengers and crew.
The investigation yielded no discovery of any suspicious object or explosive device on the flight. Following this, the Mumbai police took swift action, detaining the 27-year-old passenger responsible for the alarming claim. A case has been registered against the individual under sections 506(2) and 505(1)(B) of the Indian Penal Code.

Noida Resident Makes Hoax Bomb Threat To Delay His SpiceJet Flight
A resident of Noida created a false bomb threat at Darbhanga airport on Wednesday, intending to delay a SpiceJet flight to Delhi because he was running late, the Mint reported. After the SpiceJet aircraft safely landed at Delhi airport at 6:00 PM, it was moved to an isolation bay for a thorough investigation.
A call was received at the SpiceJet reservation office, claiming the presence of a bomb on the aircraft operating flight SG 8946 from Darbhanga to Delhi. In response, the airline promptly informed the relevant security officials. Following the safe landing of the flight, the aircraft was relocated to an isolated bay for comprehensive scrutiny.
An airline spokesperson stated, "On checking the flight, we found nothing. We handled things according to airport security rules." The thorough examination of the aircraft revealed no evidence of any threat, confirming the false nature of the bomb claim.
According to the Mint's report, the Noida resident responsible for the hoax bomb threat is now facing legal consequences, as the police have registered a case against him under sections 506(2) and 507 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
