This is the result of everyone’s hard work. We have been able to control the situation, he said. On Sunday, Home Minister Amit Shah said that there is no threat of community transmission in the national capital. He said that Delhi deputy CM Manish Sisodia's statement on prediction of 5.5 lakh cases by July end had created fear in the mind of people. However, in an exclusive talk with ABP News Sisodia has denied the allegation and said that the data he cited was Centre's. "I believe whatever the situation is like, there should be transparency and people must know what is going on," Sisodia said brushing off Shah's statement on panic among residents. Sisodia had said earlier that by July 31 there will be 5.5 lakh cases of Covid-19 in Delhi. "Till June 15, there will be 44,000 COVID-19 cases and we would need 6,600 beds. We would hit one lakh cases and would require 15,000 beds by June 30. There will be around 2.25 lakh cases till July 15 and COVID-19 cases will reach around 5.5 lakh by July 31," Sisodia had said. India recorded a spike of 18,653 cases in the last 24 hours, pushing the total tally of Covid19 cases to 5,85,493, with the number of fatalities mounting to 17,400, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said on Wednesday.
