Covid Surge: Serpentine Line Of Ambulances Outside Ahmedabad’s Civil Hospital As Situation Worsens
Covid Surge: The number of patients visiting the hospital for emergency services has increased significantly over the last 10 days and most of them are Covid-19 patients.
With the country reeling under the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, the situation in Gujarat capital Ahmedabad seems to be deteriorating with the people making a beeline at the Civil Hospital and a long queue of ambulances waiting outside amid the unprecedented surge in cases.
With the burden on the hospital increasing every day following the surge in Covid-19 cases, the waiting time outside the hospital has also increased for serious patients.
The number of patients visiting the hospital for emergency services has increased significantly over the last 10 days and most of them are Covid-19 patients. Due to this, 60 more ambulances have been increased in the Civil Hospital of Ahmedabad.

Asserting a number of decisions have been taken by his government in the last year to control the spread of the pandemic, Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani told ABP news in an exclusive conversation that 70 percent of the cases in Gujarat are being reported from four cities, including Ahmedabad, Rajkot, and Surat.
Rupani said that 6,000 cases were reported on Monday in Gujarat, adding his government has increased medical facilities to break the chain of Covid-19 transmission.
Expressing confidence of reduction in Covid-19 cases, he said the demand for Remdesivir has increased significantly in the state and added that his government is despite that ensuring there is no shortage of the drug.
Gujarat on Tuesday reported 6,690 fresh Covid-19 cases, which is the highest ever-spike in daily cases. This took the tally to 3, 60,206. According to the state’s health department, 67 more people succumbed to the virus in Gujarat, taking the tally to 4,922. Ahmedabad reported 2,251 new corona cases.
According to the health department, 3, 20,729 people have so far been cured in the state and 34,555 patients are under treatment. In Gujarat, 84.04 lakh people have so far been given the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine while 11.61 lakh people have been administered the second dose.
