Here's How Couples Are Getting Hitched At The Time Of Covid Pandemic

Several weddings have taken place during the lockdown around the country. A couple in Surat got married even with the ongoing Lockdown, on Thursday. The couple made the decision to tie the knot with a simple ceremony even though they had planned on a big, lavish wedding. The venue also had hand sanitizers, gloves, and masks present.

New Delhi: A couple in Surat got married even with the ongoing Lockdown, on Thursday at a venue which had hand sanitizers, gloves, and masks available The couple made the decision to tie the knot with a simple ceremony even though they had planned on a big, lavish wedding.  The wedding guests and were just the parents of the bride and groom, extended family and friends joined in through video conference. Several weddings have taken place during the lockdown around the country. Last month, a couple in Andhra Pradesh had a wedding in Tirumala with six attendees even though the temple was closed for devotees due to the lockdown. Similarly, a couple tied the knot at the doorsteps of the Madurai temple as the couldn’t enter the temple due to the lockdown. While UP and Bihar based couple exchanged their wedding vows over video call with the Qazi solemnizing their marriage over video conference. Another wedding took place in UP with the groom dressed up rode a motorbike with his father and two friends on another motorbike to his bride’s home. After the wedding, he returned home with his bride on the pillion. The wedding took place in Jatan mohalla under the city police station area according to an IANS report. According to an ANI report, taking precautions was of utmost necessity for the couple in Surat even though it was just their family members, ensuring the availability of masks, hand sanitizers, and gloves. The couple was seen taking rounds of the mandap wearing gloves and masks, definitely, a never before seen sight! According to IANS, Bhupendra Panwar, regional director (sales and marketing) of a wedding organiser in the city, said, "The peak season starts in October and concludes in March. Bookings are made by clients from different parts of the world. But due to the coronavirus crisis, all bookings have been cancelled. While 80 percent of our bookings have been cancelled, status of 20 percent is not known. These 20 percent clients have just gone silent. They are not even reverting to our calls. Thus, as of now, we have no wedding bookings." The COVID-19 pandemic has crashed the wedding market drastically as weddings due late this year are also being cancelled. Also Watch:
