India Records Over 38K Covid Cases, 542 People Succumb To Virus In Last 24 Hrs

India has witnessed a marginal dip in Coronavirus cases in the last 24 hrs. India's active caseload is currently at 4,30,422.

Covid In India: India reports 38,949 new Covid cases, 40,026 recoveries, & 542 deaths in the last 24 hours, as per Health Ministry.

Total cases: 3,10,26,829

Total recoveries: 3,01,83,876

Active cases: 4,30,422

Death toll: 4,12,531

Total vaccinated: 39,53,43,767 (38,78,078 in last 24 hrs)

India's Active Caseload is currently at 4,30,422. Active cases constitute 1.39% of total cases. Weekly Positivity Rate remains below 5%, currently at 2.14%. Daily positivity rate at 1.99%, less than 3% for 25 consecutive days

Maharashtra Records 8010 new covid cases, 170 deaths

Maharashtra, on Thursday, recorded 8,010 new Covid-19 cases even as the government demanded an increased supply of vaccine doses to beat the impending third wave of the pandemic.

Although the state received 950,000 doses from the Centre on Thursday, the supply will hardly last three-four days, considering the state is vaccinating 300,000-350,000 citizens daily. On Thursday, 337,074 citizens were vaccinated in Maharashtra across 2,924 centres.

On the other hand, Maharashtra's capital Mumbai reported 545 new infections and 13 fresh fatalities on Thursday. 

According to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) data, a total of 505 patients got discharged in the past day, taking the cumulative recovered cases to 7,04,764.
