BJP led NDA likely to attain 281/543 seats; Congress led UPA likely to bag 122 in 2019 Lok Sabha polls: Survey

The survey suggests that United Progressive Alliance led by The Congress is likely to attain 31% of the vote share and other parties are likely to attain 33%, which is more than UPA.

New Delhi: The current political scenario, just months ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha polls and the statistics as per recently conducted survey by India Today, hint at 3 different possibilities of government formation in 2019 Lok Sabha. It also shows Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a favourable face for PM. As per the survey, the National Democratic Alliance led by Bharatiya Janta Party, is likely to attain 36% of vote share, which more than the vote share of UPA and other parties, but  unlikely to achieve majority and form a government on its own. The survey suggests that United Progressive Alliance led by The Congress is likely to attain 31% of the vote share and other parties are likely to attain 33%, which is more than UPA. On the other hand,  as far as seat sharing is concerned, the survey holds the NDA with highest number of seats which is 281, if the polls are conducted at present and is likely to form the government with majority. Of these 281 seats, the BJP is likely to attain 245 seats on its own. The UPA on the other hand is likely to attain 122 seats, of which 83 will be of Congress alone; and other parties are likely to attain 140 seats. BJP led NDA likely to attain 281/543 seats; Congress led UPA likely to bag 122 in 2019 Lok Sabha polls: Survey BJP led NDA likely to attain 281/543 seats; Congress led UPA likely to bag 122 in 2019 Lok Sabha polls: Survey If SP, BSP and Mamata support UPA: In case the grand alliance against Prime Minister Narendra Modi comes to reality and UPA attains support of Samajwadi Party, Bahujan Samaj Party and Trinamool Congress, then in that case; UPA is likely to attain 224 seats, of which Congress is likely to win 96 seats; whereas NDA is likely to come down to 91 seats. NDA: 228 (BJP: 194) UPA: 224 (Congress: 96) In this scenario, we are likely to be headed for a hung assembly, since neither NDA, nor UPA will attain majority. If in case SP, BSP and Mamata support UPA and AIADMK and YSR Congress support NDA; in that case: NDA is likely to get 255 seats (BJP: 196) UPA: 242 seats (Congress: 97) And other parties are likely to win (46 seats) PM choice for 2019: As per the survey, 49% of the population is keen on seeing Prime Minister Narendra Modi as PM candidate for 2019 as well; whereas 27% people want Congress Rahul President Rahul Gandhi as PM candidate.
