Bihar Elections 2020: PM Modi Targets Oppn Ahead Of Phase-II Polls, Highlights NDA Efforts During Covid Lockdown

Bihar Elections 2020: Prime Minister Narendra Modi left no stones upturned in his elections rallies on Sunday to woo the people of Bihar ahead of the second phase of voting in State Assembly election on November 3.

From launching scathing attacks against the opposition parties and Mahagathbandhan, to hailing the NDA government, Prime Minister Narendra Modi left no stones upturned in his elections rallies in Bagah, Samastipur, Chhapra and Motihari on Sunday to woo the people of Bihar ahead of the second phase of voting in State Assembly election on November 3. While addressing an election rally in Bihar's Chhapra on the last day of the campaign for Phase II polls, PM Modi slammed Mahagathbandhan leadership saying that Bihar has a double engine government which is committed to state welfare while there are two "Yuvaraj" who are fighting to save their throne. "Three or four years ago, even in the Uttar Pradesh elections, double princes were shaking hands with the people from atop buses. They were made to return home by the people of Uttar Pradesh," he said, referring to the alliance between Mr Gandhi and Akhilesh Yadav, the political heir of Mulayam Singh Yadav, the Samajwadi Party patriarch. "A prince there has now met the prince of Jungle Raj," he said, adding like Uttar Pradesh, the two "crown princes" will bite the dust in Bihar. Later in the day while speaking to the people of Motihari, Prime Minister highlighted the steps taken by the JD(U)-led NDA government for the benefit of migrants and poor during the COVID-19 outbreak. "We have ensured free grains for poor till Chhath Puja. No woman should worry about how she will celebrate Chhath Puja," said Prime Minister. During his speech, PM Modi also expressed confidence in forming his government in the state. He said that after the first phase voting, is it clear that Nitish Kumar is all set to form government again. PM thanked the people of Bihar for showing up in the election rallies and putting trust in his government even at the time of Coronavirus restrictions. Polling in 71 seats in the first phase of Bihar assembly elections was completed on October 28, with voter turnout at 54.26 per cent. The other two phases of the Bihar election are on November 3 and November 7, and the results will be announced on November 10.
