Jagan Condemns Arrest Of YSRCP's Social Media Activists, Declares 'War On Demonic Yellow Media'
Citing the arrest of over 100 YSRCP social media activists, Jagan Reddy criticised it as an infringement on activists' fundamental rights, calling it a “direct assault” on constitutional guarantees.
YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leader and former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Friday condemned the detention of over 100 YSRCP social media activists in Andhra Pradesh, vowing to fight what he called a “demonic yellow media” and its “unethical social media.” His remarks come amid allegations that these activists posted disparaging content against Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and his coalition government.
"We are waging a war against a demonic yellow media, and it's (its) unethical social media. In this battle (of) illegal detentions, undue harassment and false cases. I am with you in each of these battles," said Reddy in a post on 'X'. He asserted that truth would prevail.

Reddy criticised the detentions as an infringement on activists' fundamental rights, calling it a “direct assault” on constitutional guarantees. He also urged police officials to uphold the law and claimed that undue harassment and false cases had become the order of the day.
The controversy intensified on Wednesday when Guntur police detained YSRCP activist Meka Venkata Rami Reddy in Tadepalli’s NTR Colony. He was accused of sharing morphed images and derogatory comments about Naidu on social media. Addressing reporters in Amaravati on Thursday, Jagan Mohan Reddy decried the alleged harassment of social media activists by law enforcement, claiming the Chandrababu Naidu-led government was mishandling the law and order situation and disregarding due process in arrests.
