Ahead of PM Narendra Modi’s Gujarat visit, Hardik Patel & Patidar youths tonsure heads
New Delhi: On the one hand, from Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is commencing his Gujarat visit and on the other hand, just before PM's visit Hardik Patel, a political activist active in the state, took out ‘march for justice’.
Alleging police atrocities on members of the Patidar community, Patel and 50 of his supporters got their heads shaved. They also took out “Nyaya Yatra" (march for justice) from a Botad village on Sunday.
Hardik’s move came ahead of Modi’s scheduled two-day visit to his home state from Monday to attend the annual general meeting of African Development Bank and other programmes.

On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Gujarat, during which he will join various programmes in Kutch and Gandhinagar.
Interestingly, the state is going for polls later this year.
Prime Minister Modi, in a series of tweets, shared his itinerary of his two-day visit.
Tomorrow I will begin a two day Gujarat visit, during which I will join programmes in Kutch and Gandhinagar.

Modi will also be meeting some of the distinguished delegates of the AFDB Group. Gujarat Legislative Assembly election, 2017 The 14th legislative assembly election will be held in 2017 to elect members of the 182 constituencies in Gujarat as the tenure of present assembly ends on 22 Jan 2018. Last time, elections were held in two phases, the first on 13 December and second on 17 December 2012. This year also the elections might take place in the last two months of 2017 that is November-December.
