New Delhi: After Google briefly delisted digital payment app Paytm over its IPL cashback campaign, the search giant has now sent notices to food delivery apps Zomato and Swiggy over the same. ALSO READ | Paytm vs Google? 'Paytm Cricket League' Brought Back Weeks After Play Store De-Listed App Over Cashback Offer Both Zomato and Swiggy were running cashback-based IPL campaigns and now both platforms have reportedly decided to suspend these offers for the time being. Zomato's campaign was Zomato Premier League while Swiggy offered 'Match Day Mania' during the IPL 13 matches. "Yes, we have received a notice from Google. We believe that the notice is unfair, but we are a small company and have already realigned our business strategy to comply with Google's guidelines. We will be replacing Zomato Premier League with a more exciting programme by this weekend," a Zomato spokesperson told news agency IANS. As per reports, Swiggy has also temporarily stalled the 'Match Day Mania' on its platform and the company is currently in touch with Google to resolve the issue. Faceoff With Paytm

Google's updated policy led to Paytm being briefly removed from play store as the search giant categorised its 'Paytm Cricket League' under gambling. Addressing the issue with Google, the company's official blog read, "Our users can be assured that Paytm has never been involved in anything that can be considered betting or gambling. We believe that such arbitrary actions and accusatory labelling go against the laws of our country and acceptable norms of fair competition by arbitrarily depriving our users of innovative services". Earlier, Paytm had directly attacked Google by alleging the search giant's own digital wallet 'Google Pay' offers similar campaigns. "Presumably, such cashback campaigns of Google Pay are not in breach of Play Store policies, or maybe they are, but a different set of rules apply to Google’s own apps," the official statement called out a double standard. The app has brought back its 'Paytm Cricket League' campaign with some changes. (With Agency Inputs) WATCH | Paytm Vs Google Pay: Know The Real Story Of Paytm Withdrawal From Google Play Store
