After Amazon Receives FAA Approval, Will Package Delivery Through Drones Be The New Normal?

Amazon has been working on drone delivery for goods for several years as the company had showcased a self-controlled model for the same last year.

Know More About Launch, Specification, And Prices According to reports, the Federal Aviation Administration which is an operating mode of the U.S. Department of Transportation has granted its approval to Amazon for delivering packages by using drones. The global e-commerce giant Amazon has welcomed this approval by calling it an important step, adding that the drone delivery is in a testing phase. The company has not revealed when will it be able to launch the delivery option. Reportedly, Amazon has been working on this option for several years trying to surpass hurdles caused by regulations. In December 2013,  Amazon founder and CEO Jeff Bezos talked about drones flying to customers' homes within five years. ALSO READ | PlayGo T44 True Wireless Earphones Review The company, at a press conference last year, had also showcased some automated drones that were fully electric and were capable of carrying goods weighing 5 pounds in a timeframe of 30 mins to a specific destination. However, looks like the technology is still a work in progress. Going ahead, Amazon will have to to submit evidence of its delivery system's safety and demonstrate the same for the agency. FAA has stated that before Amazon, a delivery company UPS and another owned by search giant Google had got approval for drone delivery last year.
