Former Prasar Bharati CEO Slammed For Sharing Morphed Image Of PM Modi Bowing To Nita Ambani

New Delhi: Former Prasar Bharati CEO Jawhar Sircar has come under fire for sharing a morphed image of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Sircar in a Twitter post shared a photo wherein PM Modi is seen bowing with folded hands to the chairperson and founder of Reliance Foundation, Nita Ambani.
In his tweet, Sircar said, “Wish fellow parliamentarians... also received such courtesy — from permanently-scowling PM.”

Though Sircar deleted the image and the accompanying tweet, netizens were quick to point out the original picture and trolling him for his post.
According to reports, the original photo is from 2018 and shows PM Modi greeting a social worker, Deepika Mondol, who runs Divya Jyoti Cultural Organisation and Welfare Society.
Taking note of the development, Sircar's successor and incumbent Prasar Bharati chief Shashi Shekhar Vempati condemed social media post and said, “Disgusting and shameful... It is reprehensible that a former CEO of the public broadcaster is publishing fake images. We are embarrassed by these actions.”
Veteran journalist and former advisor to Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Kanchan Gupta also slammed Sircar and wrote, "A former Secretary to Govt of India is intentionally tweeting morphed images to slander PM Modi. @Twitter provides a platform for #ManipulatedMedia and rewards such folks with a ‘Blue Tick’ to lend credibility to #FakeNews. This is how @manishm does the bidding of @jack Company."
