Will Celebrate Lohri On Borders By Burning Farm Laws Copies: Farmers' Unions Ahead Of Next Round Of Talks

As the deadlock between the farmers and the government continues, the farmer unions warned that if the government fails to end their meet, they will burn Farm Laws copies on the occasion of Lohri.

A day ahead of the meeting with Centre, protesting farmers' unions on Sunday continued to demand repealing of the three Farm Laws. Intensifying their protest at various borders of the national capital, farmers said they are ready for the long haul and threatened to burn copies of farm laws on the occasion of Lohri. We'll celebrate Kisan Diwas on 23rd Jan, on the occasion of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose birth anniversary," farmer leader Manjeet Singh Rai said as quoted by new agency ANI. The statement has come at the time when the next round of talks between the government and the protesting farmer unions is scheduled to be held on January 4. In the previous round of negotiation held on Wednesday, the government and farm unions reached some common ground to resolve protesting farmers' concerns but the deadlock remained unresolved. "Today is 37th day, govt should leave its stubbornness. We won't go back till laws are taken back. It's disappointing that farmers are losing their lives. So many farmers are braving the cold yet the govt is not taking it seriously," ANI quoted Onkar Singh, another union leader ahead of the talks scheduled for tomorrow. Earlier on Saturday, the farm unions said they will enter the national capital on January 26 on the occasion of Republic Day, and carry out a tractor parade if their demands for a repeal of three farm laws are not met by then.
