BJP Yuva Morcha Sends Legal Notice To AAP's Raghav Chadha Over His 'Goon' Remarks About Saffron Party

Chadha's comments came apparently after BJP Delhi unit’s chief Adesh Gupta felicitated 8 members of BJYM who were accused for vandalising property outside Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal’s residence

New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party leader Raghv Chadha landed in legal trouble over his remarks about the Bharatiya Janata Party on Sunday as BJP Yuva Morcha sent a legal notice demanding his written apology, reported news agency ANI.

BJP Yuva Morcha Punjab vice-president Ashok Sareen, on Sunday, had sent the notice to the Rajya Sabha member and Delhi Jal Board Vice Chairman who called the saffron party as “Goondon-Lafango ki party” (party of goons) besides spelling BJP as “Bharat ki Jaahil Party (India’s illiterate party).

In the legal notice sent under Sections 499 and 500 of the Indian Penal Code, Sareen has demanded a written apology from Chadha within three days failing which a civil and criminal complaint will be filed, reported the news agency.

"You have falsely and maliciously lowered the reputation and created ill will against the BJP in the minds of the people of society. The utterances on your part are derogatory, defamatory and tantamount to the character assassination of the entire BJP," the legal notice to Chada read.

The Rajya Sabha member’s comments apparently came after BJP Delhi unit’s chief Adesh Gupta had felicitated eight members of the BJYM who were accused for vandalising property outside Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s residence

Another AAP leader, Atishi had also slammed the saffron party for felicitating the eight BJYM members calling the BJP as a party of “hooligans and rapists.”

Taking to Twitter, Delhi Chief Minister and AAP national convenor, Arvind Kejriwal too lashed out at the BJP saying “If someone commits hooliganism in America, he goes to jail. In India, he goes to that party (BJP). If someone harasses a girl in Europe, he goes to jail. In India, he goes to their party.”

“They will never make good schools. They need lakhs of illiterate people, unemployed people, goons, and vandals for their politics,” he added.
