Chardham Yatra 2023: Pilgrims visiting Chardham Yatra 2023 in Uttarakhand this year will soon be able to book helicopter service online through the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Cooperation or the IRCTC. As per the IRCTC website, the registration for helicopter services will begin soon and the pilgrims are advised to check the website heliyatra.irctc.co.in for the latest updates.
As per reports, the process of booking helicopter service for Chardham Yatra 2023 is likely to start from April 25, which means the pilgrims will be able to book their tickets for the same through the IRCTC website.
The Uttarakhand government's official website also states that the helicopter services for Chardham Yatra 2023 will be booked through IRCTC heliyatra website.
The state government has given the responsibility of booking helicopters for Chardham Yatra 2023 to IRCTC for transparency in ticket booking and to prevent unauthorised sales of it.
The IRCTC and Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority (UCADA) had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for a period of five years for providing helicopter ticket booking services to the pilgrims of the Chardham yatra.
In February, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) had issued a circular with regard to the helicopter pilgrimage operation for this year. The circular stated the guidelines and responsibilities that the helicopter operators will be required to follow and also mentioned certain guidelines that the respective shrine boards or district administration need to follow to ensure safe and smooth helicopter operations.
It is to be noted that to book the helicopter services, one must have to first register themselves for the Chardham Yatra 2023.
Devotees can register themselves with the Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board (UTDB) through the Tourist Care Uttarakhand mobile application. The pilgrims can also register through WhatsApp with the UTDB. To register with the Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board through WhatsApp, the pilgrims will just need to type 'Yatra' and send it to +91 8394833833 to initiate the process.
