During his recent 'Mann Ki Baat' radio broadcast, PM expressed his excitement for the upcoming International Yoga Day program, where he will participate at the United Nations headquarters in New York on June 21 during his visit to the US. He also highlighted the remarkable enthusiasm for Yoga Day, including its vibrant presence on social media platforms.
PM Modi emphasized the significance of June 21, the International Day of Yoga, which is eagerly anticipated by people in every corner of the world. "I urge all of you to adopt yoga in your life, make it a part of your daily routine. If you are still not connected with yoga, then the 21st of June is a great opportunity for this resolve. There is no need for many frills in yoga anyway. See, when you join yoga, what a big change will come in your life," he said.
PM Modi To Lead Yoga Festivities At UNHQ
In a momentous commemoration, Prime Minister Modi will lead a historic yoga session at the United Nations Headquarters (UNHQ) on the 9th International Day of Yoga, to be celebrated on June 21. The Permanent Representative of India to the United Nations has extended a cordial invitation to join the yoga session led by Prime Minister Modi.
This event holds special significance as it marks the realization of Prime Minister Modi's vision, articulated nine years ago from the UN General Assembly podium, to establish the International Day of Yoga as an annual observance.
It will be the first time that the Indian leader assumes the role of leading a yoga session at the UN Headquarters, constituting a momentous occasion in the history of Yoga Day celebrations.
