New Delhi: Former Kerala minister and CPI (M) leader KT Jaleel swept aside the allegations against him in the gold smuggling case and filed a complaint against Swapna Suresh for levelling allegations against him. He also claimed that BJP is engaged in false propaganda to overthrow the ruling Pinarayi government.
He called the allegations levelled against him baseless. "This is a BJP & UDF conspiracy. They are trying to tarnish the image of the existing govt. This conspiracy should be investigated," news agency ANI said, quoting former Kerala Minister and CPI (M) leader Jaleel.

Earlier, Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan held a meeting with State Police Chief Anil Kant in connection with the Swapna Suresh's allegations in the Gold Smuggling case. Jaleel filing a complaint came after the meeting ended in Thiruvananthapuram, said a Matrubhumi report.
Former Minister Jaleel also alleged that PC George had hatched a plan to topple the state government. George was conspiring against the government as voice clips of George devising a plan had reportedly come out.
Earlier on Wednesday, it was reported that the prime accused in the case, Swapna Suresh, on Tuesday levelling certain allegations against Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, his family members and some top bureaucrats. The Chief Minister, however, dismissed as "baseless," Suresh's allegations of some sort of smuggling activities against him and the others, main opposition Congress demanded his resignation from the state's top post.
