Rahul Gandhi Urges Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah To Help Those Affected By Prajwal Revanna Sex Scandal

In Prajwal Revanna obscene video case, Rahul Gandhi urged support for the victims and emphasised the importance of holding accountable all parties involved in the crimes.

In a scathing letter addressed to Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has condemned the alleged inaction of senior BJP leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, regarding the Prajwal Revanna obscene video case. Further, Rahul Gandhi urged support for the victims and emphasised the importance of holding accountable all parties involved in the crimes.

Gandhi expressed deep shock upon learning that Home Minister Amit Shah was allegedly informed by G. Devaraje Gowda about Prajwal Revanna's history of sexual violence and the existence of incriminating videos as early as December 2023. He criticised the BJP leadership for allegedly ignoring these grave allegations and continuing to support Prajwal Revanna, even allowing him to flee the country to evade investigation.

Rahul Gandhi said: "What is even more shocking is that despite these gruesome allegations being brought to the notice of the senior most BJP leadership, the Prime Minister campaigned and canvassed, for a mass rapist. Furthermore, the union government wilfully allowed him to flee India to derail any meaningful investigation."

The deeply perverse nature of these crimes and the absolute impunity enjoyed by Prajwal Revanna with the blessings of the Prime Minister and Home Minister deserves the strongest condemnation, he said.

Highlighting the widespread impact of violence against women across India, Gandhi emphasised the Congress party's moral obligation to fight for justice for women. He commended the Karnataka Government for forming a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the allegations and request has been placed to Prime Minister Modi to cancel Prajwal Revanna's diplomatic passport and expedite his extradition to India.

He said, "I request you to kindly extend all possible support to the victims. They deserve our compassion and solidarity as they fight their battle for justice. We have a collective duty to ensure that all parties responsible for these heinous crimes are brought to book."
