Karnataka Sex Scandal: Kumaraswamy Dares CM Siddaramaiah To Take Action Against DK Shivakumar Over Leaked Audio

HD Kumaraswamy has appealed to his nephew Prajwal Revanna, facing sexual abuse charges, to return to India. He accused Congress leader DK Shivakumar of "manipulating" BJP leaders in the case.

JD(S) leader HD Kumaraswamy has appealed to his nephew Prajwal Revanna, who is facing sexual abuse charges, to return to India and "face the situation". He also slammed Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi for alleging that Prajwal Revanna had raped 400 women in Karnataka.

Alleging a political conspiracy by the Congress, he said: "Rahul Gandhi alleged that Prajwal Revanna committed 400 rapes. Where is the proof of Rahul Gandhi's claims? What is he doing now? It's his government here. Even Priyanka Gandhi said 2,000-3,000 incidents took place. Congress wants to destroy NDA in Karnataka. That's why they [Congress] are misusing this issue."

HD Kumaraswamy challenged Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah to take action against Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar. "There is an audio, which clearly shows how he manipulated two people in this case. They [Congress] offered him a huge amount of money," he said. Kumaraswamy was referring to a leaked audio clip related to the Prajwal Revanna sex scandal. In the unverified audio clip, DK Shivakumar, Former Congress MP LR Shivaramegowda, and BJP leader G Devarajegowda are purportedly heard discussing the case.

According to a The Indian Express report, Devaraje Gowda, in the clip, tells the Congress leaders that Prajwal Revanna and his father H D Revanna, a JD(S) MLA are likely to get a High Court stay in the cases registered against them. This was before Devaraje Gowda was arrested for allegedly distributing the pen drives with the scandalous videos of Prajwal Revanna. he was arrested under charges of sexual harassment, voyeurism, and privacy violation. Devaraje Gowda later alleged that Shivakumar offered Rs 100 crore for helping him in destroying the image of PM Modi and Kumaraswamy. DK Shivakumar has refuted the claim.

Kumaraswamy further said: says, "...I would appeal to him [Prajwal Revanna] to come back to Karnataka and face this investigation... If you have not done anything then why are you afraid, why did you run away? You have to face this situation."

Where Is Prajwal Revanna?

According to various accounts, Prajwal Revanna was travelling on an European visa and was last seen in Munich, Germany. The Hassan MP left India on April 26 and has remained out of the public eye since then. Authorities haven't been able to reach him over the phone or message either.

A Blue Corner Notice was issued against Prajwal Revanna earlier this month, which could now be converted to a Red Corner Notice. According to the Economic Times, the Karnataka government wrote to the Centre on Tuesday to cancel his diplomatic passport.
