Karnataka Congress Threatens To Launch 'SayCM' After 'PayCM' In Series Of Campaigns Against BJP

The campaign stated that the BJP’s silence to the first 50 questions is proof that they are guilty of the charges

The Karnataka Congress upped its ante against the ruling BJP government as they asked the 50th question of the “Nim Hatra Idya Uttara?” (Do you have an answer) campaign. The campaign, which attacked the Basavaraj Bommai government in Karnataka for its failure to complete over 90 per cent of the 2018 election manifesto promises, stated that the BJP’s silence to the first 50 questions is proof that they are guilty of the charges.

Congress stated that given how BJP reacted to "PayCM" campaign, they would launch a “SayCM” to force BJP to answer for their failures in the last three years. Congress intends to continue questioning the ruling government till the 2023 assembly elections.

The Congress also picked up the Paresh Mesta enquiry, quoting the CBI report as an example of how the BJP uses polarisation and divisive tactics to divert public attention every time they are asked for accountability or are under public scrutiny.

Earlier after the PayCM campaign was started by Congress, CM Bommai accused the opposition leaders of playing "dirty politics" in connection with its PayCM campaign in the state.

"If at all there is any issue, it should be spoken directly. They should give evidence, records and it has to be investigated. Without anything in their heads they come to the session this shows their moral degradation," he said.

"This campaign is taken without any morality and mudslinging programme," he stated.

"The Congress leaders are in illusion of attaining power through carrying out dirty politics. This is not possible in Karnataka. The government would initiate legal action in this regard," CM Bommai stated.

As reported earlier, several Congress leaders in Karnataka, including state party chief DK Shivakumar, Leader of Opposition Siddaramaiah and Randeep Singh Surjewala, were detained on Friday in connection with the 'PayCM' posters against Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai in Bengaluru.
