As the murder sparks tension, Karnataka police imposed Section 144 in Dakshina Kannada's Puttur. Meanwhile, Karnataka Home Minister Araga Jnanendra, said that a probe into the murder can reveal if it's politically motivated or if there are other reasons behind the killing.
The CM while addressing the media said, "The anger of the people is not against the government, it is justified for the people to be angry about this incident, I have ordered a thorough investigation into this matter, the Home Minister has given all the necessary directions after talking to the SP, about this murder. Whoever is behind this "heinous act" will be arrested soon."
"This area is close to the border of Kerala, that's why an investigation is being done in Kerala too. The killers came from behind and attacked him with lethal weapons, we will arrest these people soon and stern action will be taken against them under strict sections of the law. I want to assure that such people will not be spared," he added.
