Former Karnataka CM Kumaraswamy's Heart Surgery Successful: JD(S) Leader Revanna

Kumaraswamy is expected to be discharged from the hospital on March 24 and scheduled to return to Karnataka on March 25.

Former Karnataka minister and senior JD(S) leader H.D. Revanna announced on Thursday that his brother and JD(S) state president H.D. Kumaraswamy has undergone successful heart surgery in Chennai. Revanna shared this update with reporters after visiting former Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa at his residence in Bengaluru.

According to a report on IANS, HD Revanna said, “Kumaraswamy had undergone surgery today and the operation ended at 10.10 a.m. He is doing well by the grace of God and blessings of his father former PM H.D. Deve Gowda and the people he served.”

It may be noted that the former CM has undergone heart surgery twice in 2007 and 2017 due to restenosis caused by tissue valve degeneration. The former CM is also diabetic.

Against this backdrop, Kumaraswamy is expected to be discharged from the hospital on March 24 and scheduled to return to Karnataka on March 25, after which a joint meeting will be convened to ensure that everyone is informed and involved.

“We will forget the small differences and confusions. It will be ensured that there is no harm caused to the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Yediyurappa,” he stated.

Revanna said efforts are on to support Narendra Modi for another term as Prime Minister. Noting PM's global stature as a guiding figure, Revanna highlighted his father Deve Gowda's decision to collaborate with the BJP against this backdrop.

"Deve Gowda and Yediyurappa each possess their own capabilities. I sought Yediyurappa's blessings. Prajwal Revanna, my son, is a young leader. Yediyurappa has assured us of his support and pledged to campaign in the constituency for his victory," Revanna stated. Prajwal Revanna, currently serving as the JD(S) MP from Hassan, will contest as the NDA candidate this time.

"We are committed to securing victory in all 28 seats in the state," he affirmed.
