J&K: Encounter Underway Between Security Forces & Terrorists In Baramulla's Sopore

New Delhi: Security forces, on Saturday, have launched search operations in Sopore in J&K after inputs of presence of terrorists in the area.

In a first, a militant on Sunday surrendered during an encounter with security forces that broke out in Shopian district of south Kashmir last evening, police said. (Image: Representational)

Ahead of his visit to Jammu and Kashmir, Home Minister Rajnath Singh said he is going there with an "open mind" and is ready to meet anyone who wishes to interact with him as the government wants resolution of all the problems.

The encounter was underway between Security forces and terrorists. Interestingly, Home Minister Rajnath Singh is all set to visit the state for four days beginning Saturday.
