Google goes live with 'Files Go' in its Beta version

Washington D.C. [USA], Nov 11 (ANI): Tech giant Google announced launch of its new 'Files Go' Android app into public beta to reach a wider group of testers.

A platform to manage and share files, 'Files Go' will help one clear out free space on their phones.

According to TechCrunch, Google wanted to capitalize on the interest in the new app, owing to its exposure through media coverage.

However, instead of continuing to keep quiet about its plans, as before, the company opened up Files Go to beta testers who want to get a first look ahead of the public launch.

Caesar Sengupta, Vice President - Product Management at Google announced on Twitter, the company's decision to make the 'Beta' version available to a larger audience.

Earlier last week, Google had accidentally leaked the 'Files Go' Beta version on the Play Store but the page was pulled back almost immediately.

The company now has decided to bring back the app in the form of an early dev-ops version.

The app, much like Apple's AirDrop feature will also allow one to send and receive files from other local Android phones without requiring internet connectivity.

Taking less than 6 MB space, the app is lightweight and user-friendly.

Google is expected to go live with the 'Files Go' app in December. (ANI)
