Assault case: Delhi Chief Secretary cries 'conspiracy'

New Delhi [India], Feb 20 (ANI): Delhi Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash, who was allegedly assaulted by the Aam Aadmi Party MLAs in the presence of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday, said the incident was premeditated and conspired by them.

Prakash in a statement requested the Delhi police to take action as per law.

He said the MLAs intended to "criminally intimidate, cause hurt with the motive to deter me from the discharge of my lawful duty and compel me to follow unlawful directions".

The Delhi Chief Secretary was allegedly assaulted by the MLAs in a midnight meeting at Kejriwal's residence.

The administrator said that "none of the persons in the room made an effort to save" his life.

The meeting in relation to the delay in the Delhi government's publicity programme on completion of three years took place in the presence of Kejriwal and Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia.

Prakash also accused Okhla MLA Amanatullah Khan and another MLA, who he did not know by name but could identify, of hitting several blows with fists on his head and temple, without any provocation from his side.

In response to the incident, Home Minister Rajnath Singh held an urgent meeting with Prakash and demanded a report from Lt. Governor Anil Baijal.(ANI)
