Andhra to provide financial aid to newly-married couples belonging to Backward Classes

Hyderabad (Andhra Pradesh), October 11 (ANI): The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet has approved a new scheme providing financial aid for the newly-married couples belonging to the Backward Classes.

The scheme, named after the Chief Minister as Chandranna Pelli Kanuka, will be launched in the New Year.

Only the classes that have a white ration card or which are below poverty line are eligible. The bride must be above 18 years of age and the groom above 21. The couple will be gifted Rs. 30,000

It is estimated that 40,000 marriages will take place in 2017-18. The government will spend Rs. 120 crore.

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has suggested that to avail this scheme, a minimum educational qualification of Class X should be compulsory.

The chief minister also ordered to make it mandatory to register marriages.

The Cabinet also approved a proposal relating to virtual classrooms in the schools.

In addition to this, in the cabinet meeting held on October 10, 2017, issues like plantation, sand, heavy rains, water preservation, seasonal diseases were are also discussed.

The approved proposals are as follows:-

Virtual Classrooms --

The Cabinet approved for the selection of Trigin Technology Limited for setting up and managing cloud-based virtual classrooms in selected schools.

The project will be implemented in selected municipal schools. This project costs Rs. 160 crore.

The chief minister directed all municipal high schools be equipped with virtual class rooms by the end of this year.

Education department is assigned the task of preparing the content for virtual classrooms.

AP migrants welfare and development policy --

The Cabinet approved the proposal of "AP migrants welfare and development policy" with Rs. 40 crore.

This policy aims at the welfare, safety and rehabilitation of the Non Resident Telugu (NRT) people. As many as 25 lakh NRTs will be benefitted throught this.

Under this policy, the NRTs will be provided skill development training, so they can earn enough income.

The entrepreneurs among the Andhra Pradesh Non-Resident Telugu (APNRT) will be encouraged to invest in the state.

A round-the-clock helpline will be set up for those, who are going abroad.

An APNRT Insulin scheme will be setup. If anybody dies or gets injured, he or the kin will be paid Rs. 10 lakh.

Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) land allocations --

The state government is allocating lands to various companies with the view to get investments worth USD 6 billion to Amaravati in next ten years. With such allocations, the capital region will become a "vibrant economic hub".

With these allocations, famous universities and academic and medical institutes will be setup in Amaravati.

The cabinet also approved allocation of lands to the Gopichand Badminton Academy, Brahma Kumari Society, Nandamuri Basava Taraka Ramarao Memorial Cancer Foundation, the Xavier School of Management, and L.V. Prasad Eye Institute. (ANI)
