New Delhi: Ramping up its activities even as it plays an active role in providing maritime security to merchant vessels against Houthi rebels and pirates in the Gulf of Aden & Arabian Sea region the Indian Navy recently undertook an airborne operation by paradropping troops and equipment from a C-130 aircraft. Since December 2023 as Houthi rebels started attacking commercial ships with missiles in their reaction to the ongoing Israel-Hamas war that also led to a resurgence in pirates
