Maharashtra: Second Covid-19 Wave May Hit In Jan-Feb; Govt Braces Itself, Lists Preventive Steps
A communication of the government stated that several countries in Europe are experiencing the second wave of Covid-19 at present. It is likely that we may face the second wave in January-February next year.
Maharashtra Coronavirus: Maharashtra government has said that a second wave of novel coronavirus can hit the state by the month of January-February 2021 and has issued advisory to all district and municipal corporations to strictly follow all the protocols issued for Covid-19 management. It has asked the health department to be prepared to deal with the contingency.

The government has enumerated measures like:
- Regular testing
- Monitoring of influenza like illness
- District administrations to weekly review influenza-like illness
- Monitoring of potential super spreaders like vendors and grocers
- Hotel owners, waiters, delivery personnel, domestic assistants, transport personnel will also be monitored
- To celebrate this Diwali without firecracker
