PS Plus Games For November 2024: God Of War & God Of War 2 Might Be Coming To Your PS5 Console

Originally released in the mid-2000s, these games invite players to traverse ancient Greece, where Kratos confronts gods, titans, and mythological beasts in his relentless pursuit of vengeance.

PlayStation Plus subscribers are eagerly anticipating the arrival of November's free games lineup, and it appears that Sony may have an exciting surprise in store. Rumors are circulating that classic titles from the God of War franchise, particularly those from the PlayStation 2 era, could be making a triumphant return.

Recent leaks suggest that both God of War and God of War 2—the groundbreaking games that launched Kratos into the gaming spotlight—might be featured among the free offerings this November. After a somewhat lacklustre selection in October, fans of the franchise could be in for a delightful treat as these iconic action-adventure titles make their way back to the platform.

What Do We Know

Originally released in the mid-2000s, these games invite players to traverse ancient Greece, where Kratos confronts gods, titans, and mythological beasts in his relentless pursuit of vengeance. Although the series has evolved significantly—most notably with the critically acclaimed 2018 title and its 2022 sequel, which explored Norse mythology—these earlier entries have remained exclusive to older consoles.

If the rumours hold true, this would be the first time God of War and God of War 2 are accessible to PlayStation 5 users, likely via the PlayStation Plus Premium service, which offers a selection of classic titles.

The speculation ignited on Reddit’s r/GamingLeaksAndRumours, where an observant user discovered an update on the PlayStation Plus tab for PS5. This update introduced new navigation options for classic games, featuring an icon of Kratos clad in his signature Greek-era armor—an intriguing hint that the original God of War titles might soon join the PS Plus catalog. This situation echoes a previous incident with Dino Crisis, where a character icon appeared before the game was officially announced for the service.

If these leaks prove accurate, PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers could soon have the opportunity to dive back into Kratos’ violent origins, reintroducing these classic adventures to a new generation of gamers as early as next month.
